Fresh air, exercise, and stress-release, these are just a few
of the healthy benefits of getting outside and onto the PCT.
But while outdoor recreation is generally safe, there are some
risks involved.
The most common complaints among trail-users include blisters,
bumps and bruises. But occasionally more serious accidents do
occur. Someone may break an ankle, contract a water-borne illness
or have food stolen by bears. Being prepared for such circumstances
can go a long way towards ensuring a happier outcome.
In the following pages we’ve compiled information about basic
first-aid, foot-care, bears, and water purification techniques.
Use it as a starting point as you prepare for your journey.
Safe travels! |
