Make a gift to support the PCTA in your will or living trust. Tax laws and careful planning can make certain types of gifts a true financial advantage to not only the PCTA but to donors as well.

Gifts may be offered through an outright bequest. Bequests can identify a specific dollar amount, a residual bequest or a portion of a donor's estate after the payment of specific amounts to other beneficiaries.

The following wording is suggested for a donor to include the PCTA in his/her will:

"I give, devise and bequeath to the Pacific Crest Trail Association and its successors forever the sum of __________ or _________ percent of my estate; or the following property __________________; or all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate. [If the gift is to be a memorial, add:] This gift is to be known as The [insert name] Memorial."
