A COLD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVING SOUTHWARD ALONG THE WEST COAST IS
EXPECTED TO BRING MUCH COOLER WEATHER FOR THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
WITH PERIODS OF SHOWERS. SNOW LEVELS COULD LOWER TO AROUND 4000 FEET
FOR LATE FRIDAY THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY…POSSIBLY 3500 FEET IN THE
UPPER DESERTS. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED LATE
FRIDAY THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY ALONG WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF
THUNDERSTORMS AS THE COLDEST MID LEVEL AIR MOVES ACROSS SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA DESTABILIZED THE ATMOSPHERE. RAINFALL COULD RANGE FROM
ONE THIRD TO ONE HALF INCH AT THE COAST TO AROUND ONE INCH ON THE
COASTAL MOUNTAIN SLOPES WITH SNOWFALL OF 5 TO 10 INCHES IN THE
HIGHER ELEVATIONS.
IN ADVANCE OF THE STORM…STRONG ONSHORE WINDS ARE EXPECTED
WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING IN THE MOUNTAINS AND
DESERTS WITH WIND GUSTS TO AROUND 70 MPH POSSIBLE ON THE DESERT
SLOPES OF THE MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT DESERT AREAS.
INCREASING SWELL AND WINDS OVER THE COASTAL WATERS WILL CAUSE
HAZARDOUS SEAS.
