These images are from the National Weather Service Snow Analyses showing July 4th data overlaid in Google Earth along with my PCT tracks.

I know from personal experience these images underestimate the amount of snow on the trail a bit. The smallest speck on these images is probably miles of snow on the trail and smaller patches of snow do not show up.
