It’s still early so Pacific Crest Trail hikers should not put away that ice axe just yet, but the California Department of Water Resources reports the snowpack is one of the lowest on record so far this season. Southern Sierra snow is reported to be 26% of normal and central Sierra snow is just 13% of normal.
