The Warner Springs FFA program is creating the Stop ‘n Shop to provide basic hiker supplies and refreshments at the Warner Springs Community Resource Center, located 1/10th mile east of the PCT at the first crossing of Highway 79. All proceeds will benefit the Warner Unified School District.

Sherri Freeman from the Warner Springs School District also announced “PCT Rendezvous” in a recent email:
“We will be hosting an event for the hikers on May 4-6 at the community center. We are going to call it the PCT Rendezvous and provide food, camping, and showers for the hikers. We also plan on bringing in local entertainment to sing around the camp fire and invite the local community to visit with the hikers. Camping and use of showers will only be available on the May 4-6 weekend, but the Stop ‘n Shop will be open 7 days a week from 8:30-5:30.”

The Warner Springs Post Office remains open Monday through Friday 8 am – 4 pm, and Saturday 8 am – 1:30 pm. Most hikers will want to ship a resupply box to the Warner Springs Post Office, but the “Stop ‘n Shop” will be a welcome addition for refreshments and emergency supplies.

The Warner Springs Ranch Resort is closed this year due to the pending sale of the resort to the Pala Band Of Mission Indians. The sale has been delayed, apparently because of a bankruptcy filing.
