We mourn the loss of our friend Shane Krogen, Executive Director of the High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew. Shane  lost his life in a tragic helicopter accident on Thursday, September 12th.

The PCTA valued Shane as an outstanding trail maintenance partner for many years. Thanks to his tireless passion and dedication, the High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew connected countless volunteers with meaningful conservation work not only on the PCT but throughout California.

A Memorial service will be held to honor Shane Krogen and to celebrate his life. The service will be located at Woodward Park in Fresno, CA on Saturday, September 21st at 10:00am, near the park entry on Friant Road. All are invited to attend. Please bring your lawn chair and celebrate our friend’s life and share your memories and remembrances with others. It main rain so umbrellas are recommended.
