Academy Award-winning actor, musician and director Jared Leto, much lauded for his work championing causes to protect wildlife and the environment, is also a staunch Pacific Crest Trail Association supporter.
Today he launched a $5,000 fundraising campaign benefitting the Pacific Crest Trail on the popular crowd funding site, Razoo.

Reaching out to his many fans and supporters on social media, Jared sent a request to join him “in preserving this beautiful scenic trail for generations to come” by donating to the PCTA.
In conversations over the past year with Jared, PCTA Executive Director and CEO Liz Bergeron has explained the many threats and challenges the trail faces and the PCTA’s efforts to protect and preserve the fragile 2,650-mile trail corridor.
Commenting on Jared’s initiative, Angie Williamson, the PCTA’s director of philanthropy, said: “Jared’s fundraiser couldn’t have come at a better time. We count on year-end support from individual donors to fund this important ongoing work. I hope all of Jared’s fans who hear about the PCT and the PCTA will take the time to learn more about our organization and what we do to protect the trail. We’d love to welcome them as members.”
Jared recognizes that the trail is for everyone. Certainly, the comments that have been made on the Razoo site echo his sentiment. We hope Jared’s call will introduce many new trail users to the unique beauty of the PCT.
Be sure to visit Jared’s campaign, and thank you for being part of the caring PCT community. Together, we are making a difference.
