While the PCTA relies on the dedication and hard work of our members and volunteers to do the “dirty work” of maintaining the Pacific Crest Trail, our business and corporate partners support the trail as well. Corporate partners often donate a percentage of product sales and provide a valuable awareness boost by promoting the PCTA to their own, often very large audiences.
Our newest partnership is with Rainier Brewing Company in Seattle, who today introduces a new year-round offering called PCT IPA. Described as a “hop-forward, highly drinkable beer made with Comet, El Dorado and Azacca hops,” PCT IPA celebrates 50 years of the Pacific Crest Trail. Rainier will donate twenty-five cents per case, up to $10,000, to support the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA) and our efforts in support of the trail.
“The Pacific Crest Trail is a national treasure and captures the essence of outdoor recreation in the Northwest,” said Rainier Brand Manager Michael Scott. “We want to do our part to take care of and support the trail and the organization that brings so much joy to those in our region.”
“As we celebrate 50 years of the PCT we’re incredibly thankful for Rainier Beer’s support of the PCTA,” said PCTA Director of Philanthropy, Angie Williamson. “Partners like Rainier help us bring greater awareness of our mission to preserve the trail for another 50 years and beyond.”
With a label design that reflects the PCT emblem and Rainier’s namesake volcanic peak, Rainier PCT IPA is available in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. The new brew has an ABV of 4.5%, 45 IBUs and is available in stores in six-packs of 12-ounce cans. It is also available at your favorite bars and restaurants across the region.
So enjoy this new IPA responsibly and know that each beer you purchase helps support our work on behalf of the PCT.
