An interview with a Pacific Crest Trail “super volunteer”

What’s it like to live a life devoted to the Pacific Crest Trail? Portland’s television station KGW8 just aired this profile about Roberta Cobb and all that she gives to the Pacific Crest Trail.

Roberta, who served as chair of the PCTA’s Mount Hood Chapter between 2012 to 2018, has deservedly received many awards for her work. Under her leadership, the Mount Hood Chapter received the prestigious U.S. Forest Service Volunteers & Service Leadership Award, the nation’s top award for volunteers on National Forests.

A special thank you to our Forest Service partners at the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area for suggesting that KGW8 interview Roberta. Our relationship exemplifies what it means to partner effectively, and have citizens directly involved, in the management and maintenance of the PCT.
