Earlier this year, the PCTA established a partnership with adidas TERREX, which is adidas’ outdoor/adventure product line. adidas is committed to helping support the PCT as well as promoting the benefits of hiking and outdoor recreation. They also share our goal of making the PCT a more welcoming and inclusive place for everyone. Through the partnership, the PCT and members of the trail community will be seen by adidas’ vast audience worldwide.

In February we worked with adidas TERREX on a video shoot on the trail in Southern California about Arielle Shipe’s PCT thru-hike in 2022. Part of the video features the PCTA and our work. Michelle Daneri, our Southern California Regional Stewardship Coordinator, and Ashley Martinez, who recently joined our board of directors, were on the shoot with Arielle and adidas TERREX.
The team was outfitted with the new adidas TERREX Free Hiker 2 Hiking Shoe, a new design developed specifically for long-distance hiking. Among the shoe’s innovative features are a built-in gaiter and Continental™ rubber outsole for great traction in wet and dry conditions.
