We left Fish Lake June 28 hiking south after flipping up from z independence. Only a little snow at 6100 feet through the entire section, as for the water the pump is still broken without a handle at Brown Mountain shelter. And no watery at the faucet at Hyatt lake. Maybe PCTA could contact the forestry svc aboutthat. The Shelter had been broken for several years now.

Much of the PCT through the BLM lands (Pilot Rock, Hyatt Lake, etc.) in Southern Oregon is snow free, however there may be some persistent snow pack on the north facing slopes.

But, as the PCT continues northward onto National Forest lands at Griffin Pass it gains elevation and significant snow pack will be encountered as the Trail approaches hwy 140 just south of the Sky Lakes Wilderness.
