ODOT reports a survey team found 30-50ft drifts of snow on Hwy 242, the McKenzie Pass Highway. Therefore, they can give no estimate for an opening date for access to Lava Camp Lake or the PCT trail head on the west side of the summit.
There are no plans to plow the road ahead of a natural melt out.
It is possible that the west side of Hwy 242 will remain closed for the entire Summer.
