Gillette Lake

PROTECTED: A Popular Hiking Destination in the Columbia River Gorge

Completed Projects Gillette Lake

A pristine mountain lake with beautiful views and quality fish habitat just a short hike from the town of Stevenson, Washington.

The Gillette Lake property includes two pristine lakes and one mile of the Pacific Crest Trail, which passes through on a 20-foot wide easement. This acquisition secures public access to Gillette Lake, one of Skamania County’s easiest hiking destinations used by youth groups, families, and PCT thru-hikers from around the world.

This acquisition also protects Greenleaf Creek, an anadromous stream that flows through the parcel, which has high riparian and wildlife value providing habitat for wild populations of Federally Threatened fish species such as steelhead, Coho salmon, and cutthroat trout.
