Heavy construction will close Suiattle River Road 11.5 miles east of Highway 530 Sept. 6 through Oct. 10 to pedestrians, equestrians, bicyclists and vehicles on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. After Oct. 10 the road will reopen to foot traffic, but remain closed to vehicles.

The Sharp Fire has closed the PCT. Hikers and equestrians should stay off the trail from about Gobbler’s Knob (approx. mile 357) to at least the Guffy Campground (approx. mile 364.5) above Wrightwood, Calif. The Silver Fire has closed the PCT from the San Jacinto State Park boundary (mile 188.5) to Interstate 10 (mile 210) near Cabazon, Calif. A copy of the official closure order is pending. The community of Snow Creek, next to the PCT is under mandatory evacuation.

The Pacific Crest Trail is closed due to the Chariot Fire on Mt. Laguna. The closure extends from Cibbets Flat Campground (PCT mile 32.6) to Scissors Crossing (PCT mile 77). Currently, there is no suggested alternate route through the area.... Read more
