Curious how long it takes to walk from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail? Last fall 70 PCT thru-hikers from 2012 posted their start and finish times on Facebook. The average was 152 days.

Belden Post Office closed
Belden trail angel Laurie J. Braaten reports that the postmaster there has retired and the Belden Post Office is closed. This situation might change but currently Belden has no postal service.

Nine-year-old Monkey completes the PCT
Nine-year-old Monkey and her mother Mamma Bear finished the Pacific Crest Trail yesterday on Sunday, September 23rd.

Vallecito Lightning Complex Fire The Vallecito Lightning Complex fire (570 acres, 0% contained) appears to be burning about a half mile east of the PCT near the Mason Valley Truck Trail (PCT mile 62).
